About Us
Our Story
At Kesar, our story begins not just with food—but with memory. The fragrance of slow-simmered spices, the warm golden hue of saffron in a bubbling curry, the laughter around long family tables. These are the flavors and moments that inspired us to bring Kesar to life in Hanover.
Our name—Kesar, the Hindi word for saffron—pays homage to the spice that has colored India’s cuisine for centuries. Known as the golden thread of Indian cooking, saffron is rare, delicate, and deeply flavorful—much like the dining experience we strive to create.
Our Team
Kesar is led by a head chef who brings over 15 years of culinary mastery, rooted in the
kitchens of India and honed in fine dining restaurants across the U.S. Every dish on our
menu is a personal expression of that journey—refined yet soulful, elevated yet
unmistakably Indian. From the buttery richness of our signature Butter Chicken to the
bold, aromatic depth of Kesar Malai Chicken, each plate tells a story.
Our management and events team add another layer of excellence, with more than 12
years of experience orchestrating private events — from intimate gatherings of 150 to
grand celebrations of over 800 guests. Whether you’re dining with us or trusting us with
your milestone occasion, we bring the same warmth, attention to detail, and pride in
hospitality
At Kesar, we don’t just serve meals—we create moments. We welcome you to join us at
our table and experience a celebration of tradition, community, and the flavors that
connect us all.

I tried the dahi puri, rajma tikki, chilli chicken, and Shahi paneer — every single dish was absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavor. The music added such a fun, vibrant vibe to the place, and the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the owner and staff were extremely friendly. The food was exceptional—creamy butter chicken, perfectly cooked tandoori chicken, crispy palak chaat, and soft, flavorful garlic naan. We finished with their lava cake and ice cream, which was the perfect sweet ending. Truly a well-deserved 5-star experience!Posted on Sukhmani BTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The food was absolutely outstanding. I ordered the butter chicken, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had, rich, creamy, perfectly spiced, and incredibly flavorful. Every other dish we tried was equally impressive, from the aromatic curries to the soft, fluffy naan. You can truly taste the care and passion in every bite. This new addition to the neighborhood stands out with its calm ambience and well-crafted menu. A standout was the dal makhani which felt like a warm hug — complete blend of aromatic spices, buttery, and infused with deep slow cooked flavor that lingered beautifully. It breaks the stereotype; instead of the typical heavy creaminess, it had a balanced, nuanced flavor with a home-style warmth. The butter chicken was pure comfort in a bowl — rich, buttery, and so smooth it almost melted on the palate. The depth of flavor and balance of spices showed how much attention went into the gravy/sauce. The chicken biryani was packed with layers of flavor, and its aroma was absolutely irresistible. What really impressed me was the complimentary kulfi, crafted in-house; showing the extra effort this place puts into its food. The vibe of the restaurant is wonderfully serene — quiet enough for conversations, with calming music that adds to the charm. The staff is attentive, friendly and courteous which adds to a comfortable and pleasant dining atmosphere.Posted on Aditya BhattTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
